Ryan Jessop

What Ryan does here

Ryan writes each slot review, slot site review and guide on the site. His task is to explain what a game does and what it costs to play in language anyone can follow, and to keep the numbers honest.

Areas he covers

• Slot reviews: mechanics, features and verified figures.
• Slot sites: lobbies, offers and payments.
• RTP and volatility: the two measures that matter.
• UK slot rules: what British regulation changes.

How he works

The method is on how we check and rate. In short: two sources for every slot figure, the UK version checked, conflicts shown, gaps left as gaps. Offer terms come from the casinos' own published conditions.

Ryan's expert tips

Each page carries a short tip. They are practical and specific to that page: which stake gives a slot a fair chance to show its feature, why cutting paylines backfires on Book of Dead, how to check an RTP setting in ten seconds.

His view of slots

Slots are paid entertainment with a known price. The price is the house edge, and it is always there. A good review tells you that price, describes the experience and leaves the decision to you. It never suggests the game can be beaten.

Before a slot review is published

• Are developer, RTP, volatility, layout and maximum win confirmed by two sources?
• Is the RTP the default, and are lower versions noted?
• Does anything described apply only outside the UK?
• Is the stake limit stated?
• Are safer gambling details and advert labels on the page?
