Key takeaways

No.
People remember wins that followed a quiet spell.
The game, the stake and when you stop.
Slots are capped at £5 a spin in Britain.

Short answer: No. Every spin is decided by a random number generator and is independent of the time, the day and every spin before it.

Why the myth persists

People remember wins that followed a quiet spell.

Fishin' Frenzy	96.12%	Medium to high	5,000x
Starburst	96.09%	Low	500x

What does matter

The game, the stake and when you stop.

In more detail

The belief usually comes from land-based folklore about machines being 'loosened' at busy times. Online there is nothing to loosen: a slot's return is part of its certified design and cannot be changed by time of day. A progressive jackpot is the one case where timing matters at all, and then only because the prize is bigger, not because it is likelier.
