Le Pharaoh slot at a glance

Le Pharaoh takes the coin-collection idea from Hacksaw’s Le Bandit and moves it to a cartoon version of ancient Egypt, complete with pyramids, Stone Tablets and pharaoh styling. The two big differences are the way wins are formed and the bonus. Instead of clusters and cascades, Le Pharaoh uses 19 fixed paylines across a 6x5 grid and holds winning symbols in place for re-drops. And when the scatters land, you get to pick your bonus rather than having one chosen for you.

That choice is the most distinctive thing about the game and the part most players want explained, so this review gives it its own section. First, the base game.

Sticky Re-drops and how Golden Squares appear

When a winning line lands, the symbols in it stick and every other position drops again. If the re-drop extends the win or creates a new one, those symbols stick too and another re-drop follows. When a re-drop adds nothing, all the line wins pay out together. It’s a cousin of the respin mechanic rather than a cascade: nothing is removed, the rest of the grid simply gets another go.

Every sticky paying symbol marks its position with a Golden Square. Rainbow and FS symbols that land during a sticky sequence also hold, but they don’t create squares. Wilds substitute for all paytable symbols and help lines connect across the six reels.

  1. A paying line lands and its symbols stick.
  2. Every other position drops again.
  3. Any new or extended line sticks and adds more Golden Squares.
  4. When a re-drop adds no win, all line wins pay.
  5. If a Rainbow is on the grid at that point, Golden Riches activates.

Golden Riches: coin values in Le Pharaoh

Golden Riches turns every Golden Square into a bronze, silver or gold coin, with a chance of a Pot of Gold, a Green Clover or a Golden Clover instead.

SymbolPossible valuesOn a 25p spin
Bronze coin0.2x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x5p to £1
Silver coin5x, 10x, 15x, 20x£1.25 to £5
Gold coin25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, 500x£6.25 to £125
Green Cloverx2 to x20 on adjacent coins and PotsDepends on neighbours
Golden Cloverx2 to x20 on every coin and Pot on the gridDepends on the whole grid
Pot of GoldCollects all coins and other PotsSum of what it collects

The Golden Clover is the one to notice. Le Bandit’s clovers only reach neighbours; Le Pharaoh’s golden version multiplies the whole grid, and its clover multipliers run as high as x20 against Le Bandit’s x10. That, plus the gold coins up to 500x, is a large part of why the cap rises to 15,000x. After Pots collect, any remaining Golden Squares reactivate and the process runs again.

The Le Pharaoh bonus choice: free spins or Lost Treasures?

ScattersOptionsMain features
3 FSLuck of the Pharaoh or Lost Treasures10 free spins with persistent Golden Squares, or a 3-life coin collection round
4 FSSuper Luck of the Pharaoh or Super Lost Treasures12 spins with better coin odds and a clover every time Golden Riches activates, or Lost Treasures with an Adding Stone Tablet on the first spin
5 FSRainbow Over the Pyramids (no choice)12 free spins with a Rainbow on every spin

Luck of the Pharaoh

This is the base game with memory. Re-drops and Golden Riches work as normal, but squares stay highlighted after a Rainbow activates them, so they can pay again later in the round. Two FS symbols add 2 spins and three add 4.

Lost Treasures

This is a hold and win round. Normal paying symbols disappear; only dead symbols, coins, clovers, Pots and two kinds of Stone Tablet can land. You start with three lives, each spin uses one, and anything that isn’t a dead symbol resets them to three. An Adding Stone Tablet adds between 1x and 500x to a random coin; a Multiplying Stone Tablet multiplies one by x2 to x20. The round ends after three spins in a row with nothing new, or when the grid fills.

Which suits whom

Neither option has a published edge over the other, and the overall RTP already accounts for both. The difference is shape. Luck of the Pharaoh has a fixed number of spins and depends on Rainbows; Lost Treasures has an open length and depends on coins continuing to land. Players who like the suspense of lives counting down tend to prefer Lost Treasures; players who like line wins alongside coins tend to prefer the free spins. Our hold and win guide explains why lives-based rounds feel so different.

Le Pharaoh RTP and a session in numbers

Le Pharaoh’s verified RTP is 96.18%, meaning a theoretical £3.82 house edge per £100 staked. Picture 200 spins at 25p: £50 cycled through the game, with an average theoretical cost of £1.91. Real sessions rarely look like the average. Hacksaw’s medium rating (3 of 5) means frequent small re-drop wins, with most of the upside concentrated in Rainbows and the bonus.

Check the help screen for the RTP your casino runs; Hacksaw games are commonly supplied in several settings, explained in slot RTP versions.

How big is the 15,000x max win?

Le Pharaoh caps any round at 15,000x stake, the highest of the three Le games in our verified data. That’s £1,500 at 10p, £15,000 at £1, £30,000 at the £2 limit for 18–24-year-olds and £75,000 at £5 for players 25 and over. Reaching it would need a combination of gold coins, clovers and Pots in a bonus round, and the developer doesn’t publish how often that happens. Treat it as a ceiling, not a goal; see what max win means.

Le Pharaoh rules for players in Great Britain

No bonus buy is offered to British players, so the bonus choice only appears when three or more scatters land in play. Spins take at least 2.5 seconds, autoplay and turbo are unavailable, and the stake limits of £5 and £2 apply. Demo play is possible at many casinos once you have verified your age. The UK slot rules 2026 page summarises everything currently in force.

Le Pharaoh verdict: pros, cons and fit

Advantages

  • A genuine bonus choice with two different formats
  • Golden Clover multiplies the whole grid
  • Highest cap of the Le games we cover at 15,000x
  • Medium volatility for a game with that ceiling

Drawbacks

  • Top RTP of 96.18% is slightly below Le Bandit’s
  • Golden Squares need a Rainbow to pay in the base game
  • Many symbol types to learn
  • Lower-RTP versions may be in use

Le Pharaoh suits players who like cash collect slots and want some control over how the bonus plays out. If you want the purer cascade version of the idea, try Le Bandit; for a lives-only game, Le Viking.

Frequently asked questions

How do you get the bonus on Le Pharaoh?

You reach the Le Pharaoh bonus by landing three or more FS scatter symbols in the base game. Three scatters offer a choice between Luck of the Pharaoh and Lost Treasures, four offer the Super versions of both, and five award Rainbow Over the Pyramids directly. There is no bonus buy for players in Great Britain, so normal play is the only route. Scatter odds stay the same on every spin regardless of recent results. See how slot features trigger for the maths.

Should I pick Luck of the Pharaoh or Lost Treasures?

There is no published advantage to either; the game’s RTP already includes both options, so choose by the style you enjoy. Luck of the Pharaoh gives 10 free spins with re-drops and Golden Squares that stay highlighted, so it plays like a boosted base game. Lost Treasures is a lives-based coin round with Stone Tablets that add or multiply values, and its length depends on coins continuing to land. Our hold and win glossary entry explains the lives format.

What is the RTP of Le Pharaoh?

Le Pharaoh’s top RTP is 96.18%, which means a theoretical return of £96.18 for every £100 staked over the very long run. Casinos can run lower versions of Hacksaw games, so check the RTP line in the game’s help screen at the site you use. Over a single session your result will differ from that figure, often by a lot, because of volatility. The RTP guide explains how return to player is calculated and what it does and doesn’t tell you.

What is the max win on Le Pharaoh?

Le Pharaoh’s maximum win is 15,000x your stake. At 20p that is £3,000, at £1 it is £15,000 and at the £5 UK limit for players aged 25 and over it is £75,000. When a round reaches the cap it ends and pays that amount. Wins near the cap are extremely rare and would usually need gold coins, clovers and Pots of Gold to combine in a bonus round. The high max win slots page puts the figure in context.

What does the Golden Clover do in Le Pharaoh?

The Golden Clover multiplies every coin and Pot of Gold on the grid by a value between x2 and x20. That makes it more powerful than the Green Clover, which only multiplies the cells next to it. It appears from Golden Squares during Golden Riches, so you need a Rainbow to activate the squares first. A Golden Clover on a grid full of silver coins can lift a modest result considerably. The multipliers guide explains how stacked multipliers combine.

How do Sticky Re-drops work?

Sticky Re-drops hold the symbols of any winning line in place and drop the rest of the grid again. If the new symbols extend that win or form another, they stick too and a further re-drop follows. When a re-drop adds nothing, all the line wins are paid together. Every sticky paying symbol leaves a Golden Square, which a Rainbow can later turn into coins. The mechanic belongs to the wider respin family rather than cascading reels.

How many paylines does Le Pharaoh have?

Le Pharaoh has 19 fixed paylines across a grid of 6 reels and 5 rows. The lines are always active, so your stake covers all of them on every spin, and wilds substitute for paytable symbols to help complete them. Paylines are unusual on a 6x5 grid, where pay-anywhere or cluster rules are more common, and they explain why Le Pharaoh feels closer to a traditional video slot in the base game. Compare formats in paylines vs ways.

Is Le Pharaoh the same as Le Bandit?

No, although they share the Golden Squares, Rainbow and coin ideas. Le Bandit uses cluster pays with Super Cascades that remove symbols, while Le Pharaoh uses 19 paylines with Sticky Re-drops that hold them. Le Pharaoh adds a Golden Clover that affects the whole grid, a choice of bonus rounds and a higher 15,000x cap against Le Bandit’s 10,000x. Le Bandit has a slightly higher top RTP at 96.34%. Read the Le Bandit review to compare.
