Monopoly Casino slots are run by Gamesys Operations Limited, which lists monopolycasino.com as a white-label domain on UK Gambling Commission account 38905. The site launched in the UK in 2015 around the famous board game brand. Here is how that licensing arrangement works, who sits behind it and what the public register records.
Gamesys Operations Limited (UKGC account 38905) is the licensee responsible for Monopoly Casino.
The register marks monopolycasino.com as a white-label domain, alongside Virgin Games and Rainbow Riches sites.
Gamesys has been part of Intralot S.A. since October 2025; Bally’s Corporation holds 58% of Intralot.
The Commission fined Gamesys £6,071,292 in a decision dated 22 November 2023.

Monopoly Casino slots: who is actually behind the site
Three different businesses meet on Monopoly Casino. The Monopoly name and board game belong to Hasbro. Light & Wonder, the games company formerly called Scientific Games, is the brand partner that makes the MONOPOLY-branded casino games. And the online casino itself is operated by Gamesys Operations Limited, which holds the UK Gambling Commission licence, account 38905, and is responsible for your account, your money and the rules you play under.
When you deposit, verify your identity or raise a complaint, Gamesys is the company you are dealing with. We have no partnership with Monopoly Casino and don’t give it a rating; this page reports what the register and published sources show.
What ‘white label’ means on the Monopoly Casino licence
On the Gambling Commission’s domain list for account 38905, monopolycasino.com carries the status White Label rather than Active. A white label is a site whose brand belongs to, or is licensed from, someone else, while a licensed operator runs the gambling behind it: the games platform, payments, identity checks, customer support and compliance.
For a player, the practical point is simple. The protections you get come from the licensee, not from the logo. If Gamesys sets a deposit limit or self-exclusion rule, the white-label site follows it; if a dispute goes to an independent adjudicator, it is Gamesys that answers. Our guide on checking a slot site’s licence explains how to read these statuses.

Sites that share Monopoly Casino’s licence
Account 38905 lists 13 domains. Three are Gamesys’s own active brands, one is inactive and nine are white labels, including Monopoly Casino.
Active Gamesys brands: jackpotjoy.com, doublebubblebingo.com and ballycasino.co.uk. See our Bally Casino profile for the newest of the three.
White labels: monopolycasino.com, virgingames.com, and seven Rainbow Riches domains (rainbowriches.co.uk, rainbowriches.com, rainbowrichesbingo.co.uk, rainbowrichescasino.co.uk, rainbowrichescasino.com, rainbowslots.co.uk and rainbowslots.com). Our Rainbow Riches Casino profile covers that brand.
Inactive: megawayscasino.com, which Bally Casino replaced in September 2023.
Both Monopoly and Rainbow Riches are game brands that Light & Wonder is linked to, which is why each has its own branded casino run by Gamesys.
Monopoly-themed slots and how their maths works
We don’t publish game lists for brands we don’t work with, because lobbies change often. It is fair to say that Monopoly-themed slots exist from more than one studio: Light & Wonder makes MONOPOLY-branded games, and Big Time Gaming released Monopoly Megaways in 2019 under a Hasbro licence. Branded or not, the maths is what decides how a slot plays.
Monopoly Megaways shows why. Its published RTP is 96.5%, it runs on 6 reels with 2 to 7 symbols each for 64 to 117,649 ways, and its maximum win is 14,700 times the stake. At 20p a spin, that top prize would be £2,940; at the £5 maximum stake for over-25s it would be £73,500. A cap like that is reached extremely rarely, and sources differ on whether the game counts as medium or high volatility, so long dry spells are part of the design. Our guide to how Megaways works explains the changing reel heights.
The 2023 Gamesys penalty in plain English
The register lists one regulatory action against Gamesys Operations Limited. In a decision dated 22 November 2023, the Commission imposed a financial penalty, attached conditions to the licence and issued a warning. The total was £6,071,292, of which £165,042 was a divestment: money the operator had to give up because it was gained through the failings.
The failings covered November 2021 to July 2022 and related to anti-money laundering controls, customer interaction duties under the social responsibility code, and AML guidance for casinos. The Commission noted it found no evidence that the specific customers it reviewed had deposited criminal money, and that the licensee cooperated. Because the action sits against the licensee, it applies to every brand on account 38905, not to Monopoly Casino alone.
Customer interaction rules require operators to spot signs of harm, such as rapidly rising deposits, and to act on them. Our guide to affordability checks explains what sites may ask and why.
How to read a branded slot’s rules before playing
Open the game and tap the information or menu icon.
Find the RTP and check whether it includes any jackpot contribution.
Read the maximum win, usually given as a multiple of the stake.
Go through each feature’s trigger and what it can pay.
Check the stake range, remembering the £5 limit (or £2 if you are 18 to 24).
Every UK-licensed site must offer deposit limits, time-outs, reality checks and self-exclusion. With several brands under one licensee, ask support whether a time-out or exclusion on Monopoly Casino also applies to the Gamesys sister sites. GAMSTOP covers every licensed site at once. Free, confidential help is on the National Gambling Helpline, 0808 8020 133, at any hour.

Frequently asked questions
Who runs Monopoly Casino?
Monopoly Casino is run by Gamesys Operations Limited, which holds UK Gambling Commission account 38905 and is registered at Waterport Place in Gibraltar. The register lists monopolycasino.com as a white-label domain on that account, meaning Gamesys operates the gambling while the brand comes from elsewhere. Gamesys has been part of Intralot S.A. since October 2025, and Bally’s Corporation holds 58% of Intralot. Light & Wonder is the game partner behind the MONOPOLY-branded titles. Our Jackpotjoy profile covers Gamesys’s best-known own brand.
Is Monopoly Casino owned by Hasbro?
No. Hasbro owns the Monopoly board game and its name, but it doesn’t run the online casino. The site is operated by Gamesys Operations Limited under its own UK Gambling Commission licence, and Light & Wonder makes the MONOPOLY-branded casino games through its brand partnership. This split is common with famous names: a licensed operator handles payments, verification and compliance, while the brand is used under licence. Your contract and any complaint are with Gamesys. Our page on TV and film slots explains how licensed themes work in slot games.
Is Monopoly Casino licensed and safe to use?
Monopoly Casino is licensed through Gamesys Operations Limited, whose remote casino licence has been active since 1 November 2014. A licence means the site must meet UK rules on fair games, age checks, safer gambling tools and the protection of customer funds. The register also records one regulatory action: a £6,071,292 penalty in a decision dated 22 November 2023 over anti-money laundering and customer interaction failings. Whether a site suits you is your decision; our guide on how to choose a slot site lists what to weigh up.
Why was Gamesys fined in 2023?
The Gambling Commission found that between November 2021 and July 2022 Gamesys Operations Limited breached anti-money laundering rules, fell short on customer interaction duties under the social responsibility code, and didn’t follow AML guidance for casinos. The decision, dated 22 November 2023, totalled £6,071,292 including a £165,042 divestment, and also added licence conditions and a warning. The Commission said it found no evidence of criminal money from the customers it reviewed and that Gamesys cooperated. Our UKGC glossary entry explains the regulator’s enforcement powers.
Which sites share a licence with Monopoly Casino?
Gamesys Operations Limited’s account lists Jackpotjoy, Double Bubble Bingo and Bally Casino as active brands, with Virgin Games and seven Rainbow Riches domains as white labels alongside Monopoly Casino. Megaways Casino is listed as inactive after Bally Casino replaced it in September 2023. All of these sit under one licensee, so they share its compliance obligations and regulatory record. Our Virgin Games profile covers one of the sister white labels in detail.
When did Monopoly Casino launch?
Monopoly Casino launched in the UK in 2015. Its operator’s casino licence predates that: Gamesys Operations Limited has held a remote casino licence since 1 November 2014, the date many operators moved onto the Commission’s point-of-consumption licensing. Since launch, ownership above the licensee has changed, and Gamesys has been part of Intralot S.A. since October 2025. The brand’s game partner, Light & Wonder, was previously known as Scientific Games. For the wider story of how UK online slots developed, see our history of online slots in the UK.
What is the RTP of Monopoly Megaways?
Big Time Gaming publishes Monopoly Megaways with an RTP of 96.5%. That means a theoretical average return of £96.50 for every £100 staked over a very long run of spins, though individual sessions vary enormously. The game runs on 6 reels with 64 to 117,649 ways and a maximum win of 14,700 times the stake. Casinos may run lower RTP versions of many slots, so always check the figure in the game’s help screen at the site you use. Our Monopoly Megaways review covers the features in full.
Can I play Monopoly slots on other UK sites?
Often, yes. Branded games are usually made by studios that supply many casinos, so a Monopoly-themed slot from Light & Wonder or Big Time Gaming may appear in several UK lobbies, not only on Monopoly Casino. Availability changes as licensing deals change, so search the lobby of the site you use. If you find the same game at two casinos, open the help screen at each, because RTP versions can differ. Our Light & Wonder studio page describes the developer’s branded catalogue.
How do I take a break from Monopoly Casino?
Use the time-out or self-exclusion options in the site’s safer gambling settings, or ask customer support to apply one for you. A time-out pauses your account for a short set period, while self-exclusion lasts at least six months. Because Gamesys runs several sites under the same licence, ask whether your break covers them too. GAMSTOP blocks every UK-licensed site in one step, and the National Gambling Helpline, 0808 8020 133, is free at any hour. Our guide to taking a break from slots explains each option.
Gambling can be addictive. Free, confidential help is available 24 hours a day from the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133. Get support from GamCare or NHS gambling support, or block yourself from all UK-licensed gambling sites with GAMSTOP.
