Who operates BetMGM slots in Britain
The company named on BetMGM’s British licence is LeoVegas Gaming PLC. Its register entry shows account 39198, a head office on Bisazza Street in Sliema, Malta, and a remote licence (039198-R-319450-029) with four active activities: casino from 1 November 2014, real-event betting from 29 April 2016, bingo from 26 February 2018 and virtual-event betting from 23 April 2025. Slots fall under the casino activity.
betmgm.co.uk appears on the company’s list of active domains. The UK site launched in August 2023, years after the licence itself was granted, which is why the licence dates look older than the brand.

Inside the BetMGM slot lobby
We haven’t verified BetMGM UK’s current game range, exclusive titles or studio list, so we don’t describe them. Before you play any slot there, open its info screen and check four things: the RTP version, the volatility description if there is one, the maximum win and the stake range. If you like a particular kind of game, such as Megaways or hold and win, the lobby search and category filters are the fastest way to see what is live.
Same RTP, different ride: a BetMGM slots example
Two slots can share a 96% RTP and still feel nothing alike. The figures below are illustrative, not taken from any specific game, but they show how volatility shapes a £20 session at 20p a spin.

The expected cost is identical because it comes from the RTP; volatility decides how bumpy the road is. Our guides to volatility and hit rate explain how to read these from a game’s info panel.

LeoVegas Gaming PLC on the register
When we checked, the regulatory actions tab for account 39198 showed no current entries. The licence is active across all four activities and has no premises attached, as you would expect for an online-only operator. Reading the register for yourself takes a few minutes and is part of our how to choose a slot site checklist.
Safer gambling tools on BetMGM
LeoVegas Gaming PLC must offer deposit limits, time-outs, self-exclusion and participation in GAMSTOP across all its brands, and since 31 October 2025 it must invite new customers to set a deposit limit at sign-up. A reality check reminder is a useful extra if you tend to lose track of time. Free help is available from the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 and from GamCare.
How to verify BetMGM on the UKGC register
Read the footer on betmgm.co.uk and note the operator name, LeoVegas Gaming PLC.
Search the Gambling Commission public register for that name or account 39198.
Check the licences tab shows Casino (Remote) as Active.
Open the domain names tab and confirm betmgm.co.uk is Active.
Check the regulatory actions tab for any entries and read linked statements.
Be careful with the .com address. BetMGM’s US sites are separate businesses regulated by American state authorities and aren’t licensed for British players. Our guide to spotting unlicensed slot sites explains why that matters.

Frequently asked questions
Who owns BetMGM UK?
BetMGM UK is ultimately owned by MGM Resorts International, the Las Vegas casino group, through its ownership of LeoVegas Group. The company that holds the British licence and runs the site day to day is LeoVegas Gaming PLC, based in Sliema, Malta, under UKGC account 39198. This is separate from BetMGM in the United States, which operates under American state licences. Our guide to checking a slot site’s licence explains how to trace any brand to its licensee.
When did BetMGM launch in the UK?
BetMGM launched its British site in August 2023. It runs on the existing licence held by LeoVegas Gaming PLC, which explains why the register shows that licence’s casino activity dating back to 1 November 2014, long before the BetMGM brand arrived. The sportsbook is supplied by Kambi, a business-to-business betting platform, while slots come from a range of game studios. Our new slot sites page explains how to check any recently launched brand before signing up.
Is BetMGM licensed by the UK Gambling Commission?
Yes. LeoVegas Gaming PLC holds an active UKGC remote licence covering casino, bingo and real and virtual-event betting, and betmgm.co.uk is listed as one of its active domains. That licence requires the operator to follow British rules on stake limits, game design, identity checks, advertising and safer gambling. The American BetMGM sites aren’t covered and aren’t licensed for British players. See our UKGC glossary entry for a short explanation of the regulator’s role.
Is BetMGM the same company as LeoVegas?
They share a licence holder. LeoVegas Gaming PLC runs both betmgm.co.uk and leovegas.co.uk, as well as BetUK, Pink Casino, Slotboss and 21.co.uk. Each brand has its own website and registration, so you would normally need a separate account for each. Whether a limit or self-exclusion on one applies to the others depends on the operator’s terms. Our LeoVegas slots profile covers the sister brand in more detail, and GAMSTOP blocks all of them at once.
Does BetMGM UK have exclusive slots?
We haven’t verified BetMGM UK’s current game range, so we can’t confirm whether it carries exclusive or MGM-branded titles. Browse the lobby or search for the game by name if there is a particular one you want. Whatever you open, the useful checks are the same: the RTP version on the help screen, the volatility, the maximum win and the stake range. Our guide on how to read a slot’s game info screen shows where each figure usually sits in common studios’ games.
Can I use my BetMGM US account in the UK?
No. BetMGM’s American sites are operated under licences from individual US states and are a different business from the British site. A British resident needs an account on betmgm.co.uk, run by LeoVegas Gaming PLC, and must pass UK identity and age checks. Using a VPN to reach a site licensed elsewhere breaks that site’s terms and leaves you without British protections. Our explainer on playing UK slot sites abroad covers the reverse situation for travellers.
Has BetMGM been fined in the UK?
When we checked, the regulatory actions tab for LeoVegas Gaming PLC, the company that runs BetMGM in Britain, showed no current entries. The register is updated as cases conclude, so it is worth looking again yourself before you sign up; the check takes a couple of minutes. Each published action comes with a public statement explaining what happened. Reading the register is one part of choosing a slot site, alongside the terms, payment options and safer gambling tools.
What is the maximum stake on BetMGM slots?
The maximum is £5 per spin for players aged 25 and over and £2 per spin for players aged 18 to 24, as on every online slot offered in Great Britain. Those limits started on 9 April 2025 and 21 May 2025 respectively. A game may cap stakes lower, and an active bonus can set its own lower maximum, for example £5 per bet. Our explainer on how much you can bet on slots in the UK covers how sites apply the age bands.
