Its Gambling Commission entry shows account 39372 and a single remote licence number, 039372-R-319367-029, with three active activities: casino and real-event betting from 1 November 2014, and virtual-event betting from 9 June 2017. Slots sit within the casino licence.

Betway was founded in 2006. It is owned by Super Group (SGHC Limited), whose shares have traded on the New York Stock Exchange since January 2022. Being part of a listed group means published annual reports and investor updates, which can be a useful extra source if you want to understand the business behind a brand.

The register lists twelve web addresses for Betway Limited. Reading them shows how the business is organised:

Splitting casino and Vegas onto separate subdomains is common among sports-led brands. Both sit under the same licence and account, but they may present different game selections. If a slot you saw in one area is missing, check the other.

Hippodrome Online: a white label on Betway’s licence

The register marks hippodromeonline.com as a white label. In a white-label arrangement, a brand owner lends its name to a site that is run, and licensed, by another company. Here that company is Betway Limited, so Betway is responsible for the accounts, payments and compliance on Hippodrome Online, even though the branding is different.

The lesson for any player is that the logo and the licensee can be different businesses. The footer and the register will always tell you which company you are dealing with. The same technique underpins our advice on spotting unlicensed slot sites.

Betway’s sister casinos: Spin Casino and Jackpot City

The licence lists five trading names: betway, hippodrome online, jackpot city and spin casino as active, and dream bingo as inactive. Spin Casino and Jackpot City are casino-only brands, whereas Betway itself combines sport and casino. The £5 max-bet rule on a Betway-style slot bonus
