Mastercard slot sites

Mastercard slot sites accept Debit Mastercard for deposits and pay winnings back to the card, and Coral, Ladbrokes and Casumo all publish Mastercard as a payment method. The main differences from Visa are on the way out: Visa Fast Funds doesn’t cover Mastercard, and Coral only pays to a Mastercard that made a successful deposit in the last six months.

Key takeaways

  • Coral, Ladbrokes and Casumo list Mastercard; 10bet accepts debit cards generally.
  • Coral pays withdrawals to a Mastercard only if it made a successful deposit in the past six months.
  • Visa Fast Funds is Visa-only, so Mastercard payouts at Coral and Ladbrokes follow the standard route.
  • Credit Mastercards can’t be used for UK gambling, and prepaid Mastercards are excluded from Coral’s and Ladbrokes’ welcome spins.

Mastercard slot sites: the quick verdict

If you bank with a provider that issues Debit Mastercard, you can use it at most UK-licensed slot sites, including three of the five we cover by name. The deposit side works just like Visa. The withdrawal side has a few quirks worth knowing before you play, especially at the two Entain sites.

Debit Mastercard, Maestro and credit Mastercard

Mastercard has issued more than one kind of debit card in the UK. Maestro was its older debit brand, and many banks have since moved customers onto Debit Mastercard, which works like any other debit card online. Coral and Ladbrokes still list Maestro in their help centres, so older cards may be accepted, but the cashier is the final word.

Credit Mastercards are a different matter. Since 14 April 2020, UK-licensed casinos can’t accept gambling payments funded by credit cards, including through Apple Pay, Google Pay or e-wallets. Coral’s Mastercard page still talks about credit limits and cash advance fees, wording that predates the ban. For UK players, only debit applies. Prepaid Mastercards, often used for budgeting or travel, may be accepted for deposits but are excluded from Coral’s and Ladbrokes’ welcome spins.

The six-month rule for Mastercard withdrawals

Coral’s Mastercard help page sets a condition that catches people out: you can withdraw to a Mastercard only if you made a successful deposit with it in the last six months using Mastercard’s security check. It adds that card withdrawals are available only in some countries, so you should check the cashier, and that the operator may choose to pay some or all of a withdrawal by reversing earlier card transactions. Ladbrokes runs the same platform, so expect the same approach there.

A worked example

Suppose you deposited £20 with your Debit Mastercard in March, then topped up only by Pay by Bank afterwards. In October you request a £140 withdrawal. More than six months have passed since the last Mastercard deposit, so the card may not appear as a payout option. The cashier would instead offer a route linked to a recent deposit, such as Pay by Bank, or Fast Bank Transfer, which Coral and Ladbrokes publish at 2–4 business days. If your card has expired or been replaced since you deposited, contact support before requesting the payout.

Mastercard payouts compared with Visa Fast Funds

At Coral and Ladbrokes, the quickest published payout is Visa Fast Funds, which typically reaches the bank within about four hours of a request. Their Fast Funds pages don’t mention Mastercard, so a Mastercard withdrawal follows the standard route within the general range of instant to five banking days after approval, depending on method. Both say they charge no withdrawal fees.

Coral and LadbrokesStandard route; no specific time publishedFast Funds, typically ~4 hours if eligible
CasumoUp to 2 days after approvalUp to 2 days after approval
10betUp to 2 business daysUp to 2 business days

So at Casumo and 10bet the card brand makes no published difference. At the Entain sites, a Visa debit card has the edge on speed; our Visa debit slot sites page explains Fast Funds. For all-round comparisons, see fast withdrawal slot sites and the Casumo withdrawal time page.

How to deposit with a Debit Mastercard

  1. Log in, open the Cashier and choose Deposit.
  2. Select the Mastercard logo and enter the amount you set aside for the session.
  3. Enter the card number, expiry date and three-digit security code.
  4. Approve the payment when your bank asks for its security check, usually in the banking app.
  5. Keep the transaction ID shown on the success message.
  6. If the balance hasn’t updated within two minutes, log out and back in.

Coral says Mastercard deposits are usually reflected within one to two minutes and that it charges no fees. Casumo’s minimum is £10 for all methods. At Coral and Ladbrokes, the card counts towards the limit of three active payment methods in a rolling 30 days.

Why a Mastercard deposit fails

  • It is a credit Mastercard, which UK-licensed sites can’t accept.
  • Name, address or phone details don’t match your bank’s records.
  • The CVV2 or expiry date was entered incorrectly.
  • Your bank doesn’t authorise internet gambling payments, or you have switched on a gambling block.
  • The bank’s security check wasn’t completed in time.
  • You have reached three active payment methods in 30 days at Coral or Ladbrokes.

Coral’s help centre lists most of these. Avoid retrying a failed payment over and over; it can trigger your bank’s fraud checks. If a gambling block caused the decline, it is working as intended.

Mastercard deposits and slot welcome offers

A Debit Mastercard isn’t named in any partner’s excluded methods. Ladbrokes excludes prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers; its offer is 50 spins a day at 10p for up to 10 days, max 500, after £10 played on slots, claimed before 23:59 each day, valid 7 days, no wagering. 18+, new customers, terms apply.

Match bonuses work differently, so here is the maths for Casumo’s 50% up to £100 (18+, opt-in, £20 minimum deposit, 10x the bonus within 7 days, £5 max bet, payment restrictions apply) and 10bet’s 100% up to £25 (18+, choose it at sign-up, deposit within 7 days, 10x on slots within 3 days, £1,000 max bonus winnings).

OfferDepositBonusWageringSpins needed at 50p
Casumo£40£20£200 within 7 days400
Casumo£200£100£1,000 within 7 days2,000
10bet£25£25£250 on slots within 3 days500

At the UK minimum of 2.5 seconds per spin, 2,000 spins is at least 83 minutes of play, and the house edge works on every one of them, so a bigger bonus isn’t automatically better value. See 50% slots bonus, 100% slots bonus and our max bet rule entry.

Mastercard security and spending control

Coral’s help centre says card payments follow PCI standards with encryption, and Mastercard’s own security check, now usually a prompt in your banking app, protects against someone else using your card. For extra privacy, adding the card to Apple Pay keeps the number away from the casino; see Apple Pay slot sites.

Spending control matters as much as security. Most UK banks offer a gambling block for debit cards in their app, and casino deposit limits apply whichever method you use. Slots cost money over time, so plan a session budget before the first spin. If you need support, the National Gambling Helpline is on 0808 8020 133 and GAMSTOP blocks all UK-licensed sites.

Frequently asked questions

Which UK slot sites accept Mastercard?

Most UK-licensed slot sites accept Debit Mastercard. Among the five we cover, Coral, Ladbrokes and Casumo list Mastercard by name, and 10bet accepts debit cards for deposits and withdrawals. PlayOJO’s payment methods aren’t verified, so check its cashier. Credit Mastercards can’t be used for gambling in the UK. Before you deposit anywhere, confirm the site’s Gambling Commission licence; our guide to checking a slot site’s licence explains how to use the register.

Can I withdraw slot winnings to my Mastercard?

Usually, yes, but conditions apply. Coral’s help page says you can withdraw to a Mastercard only if you made a successful deposit with it in the last six months, and that card withdrawals are available only in some countries, so check the cashier. Casumo pays cards in up to two days after approval and 10bet in up to two business days. If your card has been replaced, contact support first. Our guide to how to withdraw slot winnings covers the process.

Is Mastercard slower than Visa for casino withdrawals?

At Coral and Ladbrokes it can be, because their fastest published route, Visa Fast Funds, applies to Visa cards only. A Mastercard payout there follows the standard route, within a general range of instant to five banking days after approval. At Casumo and 10bet the published card times are the same for both brands: up to two days and up to two business days respectively. See our Visa debit slot sites page for how Fast Funds works.

Can I use a credit Mastercard at UK slot sites?

No. UK-licensed casinos have been unable to accept credit card gambling payments since 14 April 2020, and the ban also covers credit cards used through Apple Pay, Google Pay or e-wallets. Coral’s Mastercard page still mentions credit limits, but that wording dates from before the ban. Use a Debit Mastercard linked to your current account instead. If you feel the need to borrow money to gamble, talk to the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133, or read our gambling support UK guide.

Does a Mastercard deposit qualify for welcome bonuses?

A Debit Mastercard isn’t named in the excluded methods for any of our partners’ offers. At Ladbrokes, £10 played on slots unlocks 50 spins a day at 10p for up to 10 days with no wagering; Coral gives 100 spins at 10p, though it excludes certain debit cards. Prepaid Mastercards are excluded at both. Casumo and 10bet offer match bonuses with 10x wagering, and Casumo mentions payment restrictions. All 18+, terms apply. See slots welcome bonus for a full comparison.

Is Maestro still accepted at slot sites?

Coral and Ladbrokes still list Maestro in their help centres, so a Maestro card may work there, but many UK banks have replaced Maestro with Debit Mastercard, so fewer people now hold one. If your Maestro card is declined, check whether your bank has sent a replacement Debit Mastercard. Other partners don’t mention Maestro. As with any card, it must be a debit card, not credit. Our debit card slot sites page covers card types in more detail.

How long does a Mastercard deposit take to show?

Coral says Mastercard deposits are normally reflected in your balance within one to two minutes. If it hasn’t appeared after two minutes, log out and back in, and check your banking app to see whether the payment went through before trying again. A pending bank security check can delay it. Repeated attempts can trigger your bank’s fraud controls and risk paying twice. If you are still stuck, our Coral login problems page has general troubleshooting steps.

Why was my Mastercard declined at a casino?

Coral lists the usual reasons: a credit limit issue on a credit card (which UK rules now block anyway), name, address or phone details that don’t match your bank’s records, an incorrect CVV2 or expiry date, or a bank that doesn’t allow internet gambling payments. A gambling block you set up yourself will also decline it, and that is the block working. At Coral and Ladbrokes, three active methods in 30 days can block a new card. See how to block gambling sites for more on blocks.

Are there fees for using Mastercard at slot sites?

Coral states that it charges no fees on Mastercard payments, and Coral and Ladbrokes say they charge no withdrawal fees. Casumo deducts £3 from withdrawals under £10, so withdrawing at least £10 avoids it, while 10bet doesn’t publish withdrawal fees. A UK Debit Mastercard paying in pounds shouldn’t normally carry a bank charge, though a non-sterling card could incur conversion fees. Our slot site payment methods guide compares fees across the main methods.
