Pirates' Plenty slot plays in two phases
The simplest way to understand this Red Tiger game is to treat it as two slots in one. In the first phase you play a five-reel game with a Wild Monkey and a free spins round, while map pieces gradually fill in a treasure map. When the map is complete, the second phase begins: a sixth Treasure Reel opens on the right and Wild Ships with multipliers start to appear on it. Red Tiger's rules say the Treasure Reel stays unlocked once earned.

Because the extra reel and its multipliers only arrive later, the game is at its quietest at the start. Dynamite Riches uses a similar unlock idea with a fuse instead of a map.
A pirate theme with a ghostly captain
The setting is a pirate adventure at sea: a treasure map that fills in as you play, galleons that become wild ships, a mischievous monkey and a ghostly captain who appears during the bonus. The tone is light-hearted adventure rather than grim realism. If you like the theme, our pirate slots and ocean slots pages list other games with a nautical setting.
Map pieces and how the Treasure Reel unlocks
Map pieces work as scatter symbols that land at random until the map is complete. Each one moves you closer to the end of the map, and the final piece opens the Treasure Reel. Red Tiger doesn't publish how many pieces the map needs, so check the map display in your version. Whether progress is kept if you leave the game can depend on the casino platform.
Don't extend a session just to finish the map. Unlocking the Treasure Reel is part of how the game reaches its 95.07% RTP; it doesn't push the return above it.
Wild Ships on the Treasure Reel: x2, x3 and x5
Once the Treasure Reel is open, Wild Ships can appear on it carrying a multiplier of x2, x3 or x5. A Wild Ship substitutes for paying symbols and multiplies the wins it completes. With six reels instead of five, a line can also run to six of a kind; the paytable in your version shows what each length pays.

Red Tiger also mentions Mega Wild Ships, a larger version linked to the game's biggest outcomes. The help screen in your version explains exactly when they appear and how multiple multipliers combine.
The Wild Monkey: clearing the low-paying symbols
The Wild Monkey only appears in the normal game. When it lands, it removes every low-paying symbol from the reels, and high-paying symbols drop in to fill the gaps. The monkey then stays on the reels as a wild in the position of the last symbol it removed. The result is a spin weighted towards the top of the paytable with a wild already in place, which is one of the better base-game outcomes.
It's a close relative of the low-symbol removal features in other Red Tiger games, and it works whether or not the Treasure Reel is open. With six reels unlocked, a Wild Monkey spin has more room to create long premium wins.
Ocean Spins: keys, chests and upgraded wilds
Three Ocean Spins symbols trigger 10 free spins. During the round the ghostly captain can land and award Treasure Chest keys. The sequence works like this:
Ocean Spins start with 10 free spins.
The ghostly captain lands on some spins and awards Treasure Chest keys.
Collecting three keys unlocks a Treasure Chest.
Each opened chest turns one or more low-paying symbols into wilds for the rest of the round.
Each chest also awards extra free spins.
Further chests can upgrade more symbols, so later spins carry more wilds.
Because the upgrades last for the rest of the round, a chest opened early is worth more than one opened late. A round where several chests open can end with a large share of the symbol set acting as wild, which is where the strongest bonus results come from. The help screen lists exactly how many extra spins each chest gives.
How to play Pirates' Plenty
Check the RTP and the map display in the help screen before you start.
Choose your stake within UK limits: £5 per spin for players 25 and over, £2 for 18 to 24.
Spin and watch the treasure map fill as map pieces land.
Look out for the Wild Monkey, which clears low-paying symbols and stays as a wild.
Once the map is complete, play continues on six reels with Wild Ships on the Treasure Reel.
Three Ocean Spins symbols start 10 free spins with the captain, keys and chests.
Stop at the budget and time limit you set beforehand.
Pirates' Plenty RTP and volatility in pounds
The RTP is 95.07%, a house edge of 4.93%. Red Tiger's own page lists a slightly different build, which shows that more than one version is in circulation; the figure in your casino's help screen is the one that counts. Worked example: 100 spins at £1 is £100 staked, and the long-run average cost at 95.07% is about £4.93. At 25p for 400 spins, the same £100 staked has the same average cost but smaller swings in pounds.
Volatility is high. The game holds back its multipliers until the Treasure Reel opens, and Ocean Spins depend heavily on how many chests you manage to open. Red Tiger's page lists a hit frequency of about 33%, so small wins arrive fairly often, but they rarely move the balance much. Our guide to how to compare slot volatility explains how to read these ratings.
Pirates' Plenty max win: 5,000x
The published max win is 5,000x. At the £5 stake limit that is £25,000; at £2 it is £10,000; at £1 it is £5,000. It would need six-of-a-kind premium wins boosted by Wild Ship multipliers, or an Ocean Spins round with several chests open and many symbols upgraded to wild. Outcomes near the ceiling are very rare.
Pirates' Plenty under UK rules
No feature buy: Ocean Spins only trigger from three Ocean Spins symbols in normal play.
Stakes capped at £5 per spin (25 and over) or £2 per spin (18 to 24).
At least 2.5 seconds per spin, with no autoplay, turbo or slam-stop.
Your balance and net position are always shown, and returns below your stake aren't celebrated.
Dynamite Riches is the closest in design, with features that unlock over time. Release the Kraken and Razor Shark share the sea setting with higher RTPs. Lord of the Ocean is a traditional expanding-symbol game for players who prefer a simpler format.

Frequently asked questions
How do you unlock the sixth reel in Pirates' Plenty?
You unlock the sixth reel, called the Treasure Reel, by collecting map pieces until the treasure map is complete. Map pieces land at random in the base game, and each one moves you along the map. Once the Treasure Reel opens it stays unlocked, and Wild Ships with x2, x3 or x5 multipliers can then appear on it. Red Tiger doesn't publish the number of pieces needed. See how slot features trigger for similar mechanics.
What is the RTP of Pirates' Plenty?
Pirates' Plenty has an RTP of 95.07%, a house edge of 4.93%. Red Tiger's own page lists a slightly different figure, so more than one version exists, and your casino's version is shown in the help screen. Over £100 of spins at the 95.07% rate, the long-run average cost is about £4.93. Our guide on how to find a slot's RTP shows where to look.
What does the Wild Monkey do in Pirates' Plenty?
The Wild Monkey appears only in the normal game. When it lands, it removes all low-paying symbols from the reels, and high-paying symbols fill the empty spaces. The monkey then stays as a wild in the position of the last symbol it removed. It can't be triggered on purpose. That makes it one of the better base-game outcomes. Our wild symbol entry covers other wild types.
How do Ocean Spins work?
Three Ocean Spins symbols award 10 free spins. During the round, a ghostly captain can land and give Treasure Chest keys; three keys open a chest. Each chest turns one or more low-paying symbols into wilds for the rest of the round and awards extra free spins. Chests opened early are worth more, because the upgrades last longer. Read what a slot bonus round is for how bonus rounds are built into RTP.
What is the max win on Pirates' Plenty?
The maximum win on Pirates' Plenty is 5,000 times your stake. That would be £25,000 at the £5 per spin limit for players aged 25 and over, or £5,000 at £1. It needs six-of-a-kind premium wins with Wild Ship multipliers, or an Ocean Spins round with several chests opened. Very few sessions get close. Our explainer on slot max win covers how to treat these figures.
Is Pirates' Plenty high volatility?
Yes. Pirates' Plenty is rated high volatility, partly because its Wild Ship multipliers don't appear until the Treasure Reel is unlocked and partly because Ocean Spins vary a lot depending on how many chests open. Small wins come fairly often, but larger results are rare and uneven. Choose a stake that gives your budget plenty of spins. Our high volatility slots page lists similar games.
Does Pirates' Plenty save the treasure map progress?
Red Tiger's rules say the Treasure Reel stays unlocked once earned, but whether map progress is stored when you close the game can depend on the casino platform. Check the help screen in your version. Either way, don't keep playing just to finish the map: unlocking it is already part of the game's 95.07% RTP. Our guide on slot session length has tips for stopping on plan.
Can I play Pirates' Plenty for free?
Yes, in demo mode at UK casinos that offer it, after you have verified your age. UK rules have required age checks before any free-to-play game since May 2019. A demo shows how quickly the map fills and how Ocean Spins play out without risking money. Our guide to testing a slot in demo mode suggests what to look for.
