Reactoonz slot in one paragraph
Reactoonz is a cluster pays game from Play'n GO with no reels and no paylines. Forty-nine cartoon aliens fill a 7 × 7 board, and any group of five or more of the same alien touching horizontally or vertically pays. The cluster is then teleported away, new aliens fall in, and the process repeats. The clever part is that every win also feeds a set of meters, so a run of small wins can build into a much larger event. It is high volatility, and most sessions will end below their starting balance, but it remains one of the best-known grid slots because the cause-and-effect is so easy to follow.
Reactoonz grid and cluster rules
A cluster is any group of five or more matching symbols connected by their sides. Diagonal contact does not count. Bigger clusters pay more, and the paytable lists prizes by cluster size for each alien, so it is worth opening once to see how steeply the values rise beyond the minimum of five.
Each win removes the cluster, the remaining aliens fall and empty spaces are refilled from above. Those cascading reels mean one paid spin can continue for several drops. A spin only ends when the board settles with no new cluster.
Wilds and oversized aliens
Flux capacitors act as Wild symbols and join clusters of any alien. Larger, oversized aliens can also land; when one is touched by a winning cluster it can multiply the prize. These are the base game's main sources of above-average wins between the bigger features.

How the Reactoonz charge system builds to Gargantoon
Think of Reactoonz as a battery. Every winning cluster adds charge to Gargantoon, who waits beside the grid. Wins also power the Quantum side of the game, and the help screen names four Quantum features: Implosion, Incision, Demolition and Alteration. Between them they add Wilds, destroy symbols and transform one-eyed aliens, each in its own way, and all with the same purpose of setting off more clusters.
When Gargantoon is fully charged, he grows and makes a Quantum Leap on to the middle of the grid. From there he can trigger a chain reaction of up to five features, each potentially creating more winning clusters. This is the game's real bonus round, and it explains why the base game feels like it is building towards something.
A spin lands and any cluster of 5+ pays.
The cluster is removed and its win adds charge.
New aliens drop; any further clusters pay and add more charge.
Quantum features can fire as the charge builds, adding Wilds or removing symbols.
At full charge Gargantoon leaps on to the grid and can set off up to five features in a row.
When no more clusters form, the spin ends and you see the total.
Does Reactoonz have free spins?
Reactoonz has no conventional free spins feature. You will not land three scatters and be taken to a separate round. All of the game's bonus value is delivered inside normal paid spins, through cascades, Quantum features and Gargantoon. That design keeps everything on one screen, but it also means the big moments can arrive on any spin and are not signposted in advance.
Because there is no separate round to buy, the UK ban on bonus buys does not change how Reactoonz plays here compared with other markets.
Reactoonz RTP 96.51%: budgets, spins and time
The published Reactoonz RTP is 96.51%, which means an average long-run return of £96.51 per £100 staked. Play'n GO also supplies lower configurations, so read the rules in the casino's version. Why a slot's RTP differs between casinos explains how that choice is made.
Here is a budget-first way to look at it. The table shows how far three budgets go at different stakes, the minimum time those spins take under the UK's 2.5-second rule, and the theoretical cost at 96.51%. Real sessions on a high-volatility game will usually finish further from the average than these numbers suggest, in either direction, with losing sessions the more common result.

The last two rows stake the same £50 but give very different chances of seeing Gargantoon, because one gives five times as many spins. On a feature-driven game, more spins at a lower stake is the gentler way to play. Our slot budget guide explains the trade-off.
Reactoonz max win: what 4,570x means
The cap is 4,570x stake: £457 at 10p, £4,570 at £1, £9,140 at the £2 limit for players aged 18 to 24 and £22,850 at the £5 limit for players aged 25 and over. The figure is unusually precise rather than a round number, but it works like any other cap: if a spin's total reaches it, the round stops and that amount is paid. Getting there needs Gargantoon and a long chain of features on the same spin. A cap like this is a ceiling, not a target.
The Reactoonz family: Energoonz to Gigantoonz
Reactoonz has a prequel, Energoonz, and two later relatives. Reactoonz 2 arrived in 2020 with a new layer of charged Wilds, and Gigantoonz moved the aliens to a bigger 8 × 8 board in 2022.

Reactoonz vs other cluster slots
Outside Play'n GO, the two most common comparisons are Jammin' Jars from Push Gaming, with 96.83% RTP and a 20,000x cap on an 8 × 8 grid, and Sugar Rush from Pragmatic Play, with 96.50% RTP and a 5,000x cap on 7 × 7. Jammin' Jars is the more extreme game; Sugar Rush builds multipliers on grid positions instead of charging a character. We set out the first match-up in Reactoonz vs Jammin' Jars.

Frequently asked questions
What is the RTP of Reactoonz?
The published RTP of Reactoonz is 96.51%. That is the developer's figure for the standard version; Play'n GO also offers lower configurations, and each casino decides which one to run. The exact figure is in the game rules inside the casino's version of Reactoonz, normally under the menu or info button. Over £100 of stakes, 96.51% implies an average cost of about £3.49, though real sessions vary widely. See what is a good RTP for a slot for context.
How does Gargantoon work in Reactoonz?
Gargantoon is charged by every winning cluster and, when fully charged, grows and makes a Quantum Leap on to the middle of the grid. From there he can trigger a chain of up to five features, each of which can create more winning clusters on the same spin. He is the closest thing Reactoonz has to a bonus round. His charge reflects the wins on the current spin, so a long losing run doesn't mean he is due. Our slot myths about due wins explains why.
Does Reactoonz have free spins?
No, Reactoonz has no traditional free spins round. There are no scatter symbols that take you to a separate feature. The game's bonus value is delivered within paid spins through cascades, Wilds, oversized aliens, the Quantum features and Gargantoon. The sequel Reactoonz 2 follows the same idea. If you want a slot with a classic free spins round, browse our list of free spins slots instead and compare the features before you decide.
What is the max win on Reactoonz?
The maximum win on Reactoonz is 4,570x your stake. At 20p that is £914, at £1 it is £4,570, and at the £5 maximum allowed for UK players aged 25 and over it is £22,850. Reaching the cap needs a fully charged Gargantoon and a long chain of features in one spin, which is extremely rare. Most sessions end well below their starting balance. Read what does max win mean for how slot caps work.
How many symbols do you need for a win on Reactoonz?
You need five or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically to win on Reactoonz. Diagonal links don't count. Larger clusters pay more, and the paytable lists each alien's prize by cluster size, so a cluster of 10 pays far more than two separate clusters of five. Wild flux capacitors can join any cluster. Our cluster pays glossary entry explains the model in more detail with examples from other games.
Is Reactoonz high volatility?
Yes, Reactoonz is rated high volatility. Most spins return little or nothing, and a large share of the game's value comes from rare spins where Gargantoon arrives and features chain together. A budget of £20 at 20p a spin gives 100 spins, which can easily pass without a large win. Lower stakes and more spins give a better chance of seeing the features. See how to compare slot volatility for a practical method.
What is the difference between Reactoonz and Reactoonz 2?
Reactoonz 2 keeps the 7 × 7 cluster grid but adds a fluctuating symbol, Electric Wilds and a revised Quantameter that can release Energoon and Gargantoon Wilds. Its top RTP is lower at 96.2%, against 96.51% for the original, and its max win is slightly higher at 5,083× stake. Many players see the original as simpler and the sequel as busier. Our Reactoonz 2 review covers the sequel in depth.
Can you play Reactoonz for free?
You can play a Reactoonz demo on UK casino sites, but only once your age has been verified. That has been the rule for free-to-play games since May 2019. The demo uses play money, mirrors the real game and pays nothing you can withdraw. It is a sensible way to see how often Gargantoon charges before deciding on a stake. Our free slots page explains how demos work in the UK.
Is Reactoonz available on mobile?
Yes, Reactoonz runs on phones and tablets in the browser and inside casino apps that stock Play'n GO games. The 7 × 7 grid scales well to portrait screens, although the aliens are small on compact phones. Your account, balance and limits are the same on mobile and desktop at any UK casino. For tips on playing on smaller screens, see our guide to slots on mobile.
